HAHNVILLE – St. Charles Parish authorities are investigating the Sunday night armed robbery of a Destrehan woman who was attempting to make a night deposit, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Capt. Pat Yoes, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office, said a 50-year-old woman was making a deposit for her place of employment at the Capital One Bank, 13510 River Road in Destrehan, about 10 p.m. Sunday.
Yoes said the woman told deputies she was walking up to the bank with bank bags from her work when she was approached by three or four unidentified black men. Yoes said one of the men was armed with a knife.
The men pushed the woman to the ground and were able to grab two of the bank bags from her. The men then fled the scene on foot in the direction of Meadows Drive, just east of the bank. Yoes said the bank depository is in a well-lit area, but the bank is nestled between two buildings.
Anyone with any information on the armed robbery is asked to contact Detective Jeremy Pitchford at 985-783-1135 or 985-783-6807.
