This year Harry Hurst is implementing the SOAR program. SOAR is an acronym for: Setting Goals, Organize, Ask Questions, Record Your progress. Each student received a binder, binder dividers, sheet protectors and manila folders to help them organize their class work and homework. The students go to SOAR class daily to get instruction on organizing papers, space and time, setting goals, interacting with teachers, study skills and recording their grades. Hurst Middle teacher (standing) Darion Pack assists seventh-grade students (left to right) Collin Waltz, Dane Haydel, Devin Rebstock and Johnesha Vinnett in organizing their SOAR Binder.
