Ellender entered Friday night searching for its first victory, but Lutcher was not in a generous mood.

The Bulldogs scored 48 first half points en route to a 67-12 District 8-4A rout of Ellender on Thursday night at Ellender.

The Patriots actually opened up with the lead on a big play: Jamal Payton’s 88-yard pass to Jermaine Johnson put Ellender ahead 6-0 only 20 seconds into the game.

From there, the night belonged to Lutcher.

Austin Brack got things started when he completed a 62-yard touchdown pass to De’Amphrany Davis just under than a minute later and LHS was off to the races. Lutcher scored 35 unanswered points from there, and ended the game on another run of 37 unanswered.

The Bulldogs racked up 481 yards of total offense to 250 for Ellender. Lutcher quarterbacks (Brack, Ruston Matherne, and Jared Poche) combined to complete 10 of 11 passes for 238 yards and five touchdowns. Davis, Trevor Englade, Jarvis Landry and DiJohn Payne each hauled in a touchdown catch.

With starter Daniel Taylor sidelined due to injury, Payne started at tailback. He carried the ball six times for 114 yards and a score. Lutcher rushed for 243 yards as a team. Poche ran for a pair of touchdowns and 38 yards.
