Recipes sought for annual cookbook

Published 12:00 am Saturday, October 9, 2010

A slight chill has been hanging in the air, and the temperature change often inspires thoughts of comforting cold-weather treats.

From pecan pies to sweet potatoes to gumbo, amateur chefs across the region fire up their stoves to feed their friends and family with the fall bounty.

And it’s not only food that gets shared at holiday get togethers.

Recipes change hands from friend to friend, generation to generation.

This year why not share your favorite recipes not only with your friends and family but with the entire River Parishes community?

L’Observateur is looking for the best recipes around for inclusion in this year’s holiday cookbook.

Just send your favorites to lobnews@bellsouth.net or mail them to or bring them by the L’Observateur office at 116 Newspaper Drive (just off Main Street behind Destiny Christian Center) in LaPlace.

There is no limit to the number of recipes you can submit. The deadline for submissions is Friday, Oct. 29.

So come on, River Parishes. Let’s see what’s cookin’!
