The Port of South Louisiana, Nord-Sud Shipping and ArcelorMittal welcomed the crew of the M/V Colorado as they made their first call to the port on Sept. 3.

To commemorate the vessel’s maiden voyage to the port district, the ship’s captain, Mykhaylo Neboga, was presented a Harbor Master Certificate and a ceremonial plaque by Linda Prudhomme (Port of South Louisiana), Dustin Berthelot and Brandt Morgan (Nord-Sud Shipping) and Robert Crais (ArcelorMittal).

Operating under the Antigua and Barbuda flag, the Panamax-sized vessel sailed from Haiti and arrived at the ArcelorMittal facility in St. John the Baptist Parish to take on over 30,000 metric tons of steel billets bound for Manilla, Philippines. Nord-Sud Shipping, whose corporate headquarters are located within the port’s jurisdiction in Lutcher, served as the ship’s agent during its journey to the port.
