They’ve got spirit, how about you?

This summer, nine young ladies from St. Peter Chanel School attended an in-home cheerleader camp, conducted by Universal Cheerleader’s Association. During this two-day camp, they learned cheers, dances and stunts that can be performed at sporting events and pep rallies during the school year.

The 2010-2011 cheerleaders are Alyssa Arceneaux, Hailey Detillier, Mackenzie Louviere, Victoria Mohon, Breigh Peytavin, Lily Robertson, Katherine Scorsone, Kate Waguespack and Emily Weidert.

On Friday, Sept. 17, a pep rally was held to

kick off the SPC Chargers’ sports season, as well as to celebrate the new multi-purpose gymnasium, which has been a dream of SPC for many years and will finally become a reality next spring.

After warming up the student body with

cheers and dance, students from each homeroom competed for the coveted “spirit stick.”

Natalie Foret’s sixth-grade students are the owners of the spirit stick — at least until the next

pep rally.
