Kim Colley’s fourth-grade class at Lakewood Elementary is studying food chains and food webs. During their study students (left to right) Madison Vicknair, Shainah Chapman and Hayden Theriot explored the contents of an owl pellet. While examining the owl pellet, the students found the skull, vertebrae and other bones of a mouse. Owl pellets are regurgitated material such as bones and fur that the owl cannot digest.
