Antoine M. “Son” Duhe, 91, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010. He was a native and resident of Reserve.
He was the beloved husband of Rowena Michel Duhe for 64 years; father of Carolyn D. Applewhite and Barbara D. Galatas Oubre and husband Michael; father-in-law of the late William “Skeet” Galatas and Wayne Applewhite; grandfather of Shannon Breaud and Teresa, Scott Galatas and Theresa, Rachel Galatas Brennan and Robert and Dawn Breaud Lucia and Joey; and great-grandfather of Whitney, Alex, Abbey and Mallory Brennan, Ryan and Zachary Breaud and Marissa and Katie Galatas.
He was the son of the late Ambrose “Tattoon” and Bernadette Duhe; brother of Lawrence, Ronald “Poncho” and Errol “Sec” Duhe, Claire Michel and the late Jules, Albert and Jean Duhe, Bernadette Oubre, Aline Gueret and Ann Torres.
He served in World War II for three years in the U.S. Army 8th Corps. He was a member of Carpenters Union 1846, American Legion Post 159 and VFW Post 5004 and a charter member of Tattoons Hunting Club. His first loves were hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening.
Visitation was held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace, on Wednesday, July 28 and Thursday, July 29, followed by religious services in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in St. Peter Cemetery Reserve.
