Wives should have a day of their own

As you know we have Mother’s Day in May of every year. Have you ever thought about if you were not a mother, but you were a wife?
After thinking about this, I think there should be a “Wife’s Day” every year and, yes, mothers also qualify.
As you know, when you first meet your wife to be, you date her. You take her places, have lots of fun, hugs and kisses and spend as much time together as you possibly can and talk on the phone for hours. As time goes on and things get serious, you decide to get married and settle down. Now, the being together sets in along with the expenses. You have rent to pay, electricity, gas, water, groceries, car notes and insurance, and the list goes on and on. Your fun now turns into reality. Your wife now has to work to help pay for all the nice things that we now own. She works hard for eight hours a day, comes home to cook the meals, clean the house, wash the dirty clothes, pay the bills and make sure that you have the love and affection that started this whole ball rolling.
It isn’t long and the baby comes along; that makes her “Mommy.” Now, not only does she have to keep up with all the other things in the house, she also has a baby to care for. As the child gets older, she now has carpooled to and from school, activities after school and, of course, all the doctor appointments including the runny nose and high fever.
The husband comes home from work, walks through the door, asks her how her day went and grabs a drink from the fridge to settle down in the recliner and read the daily news and play with the television remote. He now waits to be called to supper while never even hearing how her day really went.
Have you really stopped to think about all the reasons why your wife doesn’t have the time to sit down and have a conversation with you or run and jump in your arms when you arrive home from work?
I really think we owe our wives a wife’s day, just as we should Mother’s Day. If after you finish reading this article, you agree, take the time to tell your wife how much you really appreciate her and the hard work she does for you and your family. Now, take the time to celebrate with her. And to my wife, Honey, have a great day!
