The Swamp Pop Music Festival is hosting a Children’s Pageant and a Teen, Miss and Ms. Pageant on Saturday, Aug. 7, 10 a.m. at the Lutcher High School Auditorium in Lutcher. Proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Both the Children’s and the Senior divisions are open to all Louisiana residents, and the Senior Divisions are a contracted title.

The dress attire for the Children’s Pageant is an “Off the Rack – Summer Wear”.

Contestants may register the day of the pageant. Entry fee is $60. Queens will receive a custom Swamp Pop Music Festival crown and monogrammed banner, alternates will receive medals and sashes will be awarded for fashion, smile, eyes, hair and photogenic. The Supreme Queens will receive a larger crown, monogrammed banner and a crystal award. Each contestant will receive a participation gift.

The Teen, Miss and Ms. Pageant will be held on Aug. 7, at 3 p.m. Young ladies between the ages of 13-16 are eligible to compete in the Teen Division, ladies 17-23, and never married or have had a child will compete in the Miss Division. Those competing in the Miss Division cannot celebrate their 24th birthday prior to March 1, 2011. Contestants 18 years old and over, who are married, divorced or single with child will vie for the Ms. Title. Entry fee is $100 if paid by tomorrow. Registering at the door will have a $25 late fee assessed. Interviews will be held the morning of the pageant starting at 9 a.m. with the Miss division followed by the Teen division at 10 a.m and then the Ms. at 11 a.m.

Contestants will be judged on interview, stage introduction and evening gown competition. Queens will be crowned with the Swamp Pop Music Festival crowns and will received monogrammed banners, scepters, crown box, crystal award, keepsake crown and scepter as well as

250 business cards. The Miss Queen will receive entry to the Louisiana Fairs and Festival Queen

of Queens pageant held in February 2011 in

Baton Rouge. First and second runners-up will receive crystal awards. Other awards presented will be photogenic, fashion and people’s choice in each division, and they will receive a crystal award.
