LAPLACE –St. John the Baptist Parish authorities are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a truck driver who was making a delivery at a LaPlace business Monday afternoon.

Capt. Dane Clement, public information officer for the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, said the incident was reported around 3 p.m. and occurred in the 500 block of West Airline Highway in LaPlace.

According to a Sheriff’s Office report, the delivery driver, a 28-year-old Hammond man, was making a delivery at the back of a business in the block when a man with gold teeth and dreadlocks approached him.

Clement said the suspect, who was wearing a black shirt and black cap, stuck a gun to the driver’s face and took his wallet. The driver, who was not injured in the robbery, said the suspect ran from the business and might have left the area in a white SUV.

Anyone with information should call Detective Jerry Fountain at 985-359-8769 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
