LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff’s deputies will be out and about at various locations in LaPlace this month registering local parties for the National Night Out Against Crime, scheduled for Aug. 3.

Deputies will be offering crime prevention tips and will also be distributing child-fingerprinting kits at each stop.

The dates and times are as follows:

• July 6 and 8, deputies will be at Wal-Mart, 1616 W. Airline Highway, from 10 a.m. until noon.

• July 13 and 14, deputies will be at Home Depot, 300 W. Airline Highway, from 10 a.m. until noon

• July 20 and 28, deputies will be at Matherne’s Grocery, 1424 W. Airline Highway, from 10 a.m. until noon.
