Yvonne Thomas, owner of Yvonne’s Directions in Dance of Lutcher, recently awarded a $200  memorial scholarship and award in honor of her grandmother, Anna Mollere Heltz of Reserve.

Selection of this scholarship is based on academic achievement, dance ability, leadership and contributions to school and community.

Cassandra Delatte, 17-year-old daughter of Tracey and Angela Delatte of Thibodaux, was the recipient. She has studied dance for nine years. Delatte has been a class demonstrator, student teacher and a member of the studios national award winning dance company.

 The Sherri Parrino Memorial Dance Company Award was presented to a member who embodies the spirit of dance, a hard worker and has a great attitude.

  The 2010 recipient was Jasmine Taylor. She is the 16-year old-daughter of Earl and Nadine Taylor of Vacherie. She has studied dance for years 12-years and is a class demonstrator.
