Michael Kerry Ruiz, 59, a native of LaPlace and resident of Des Allemands, died on April 29, 2010, at Ochsner St. Anne General Hospital in Mathews. He is the husband of the late Tura Dufrene Ruiz of Des Allemands.

Ruiz is survived by his son, Daniel Ruiz; parents, Lawrence and Loe Ruiz of LaPlace; brother, Lynn Ruiz of Shreveport; and sister, Susie LaPorte of LaPlace. He was preceded in death by his brother, Matt Ruiz of New Roads.

Visitation will be held from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace followed by a 10 a.m. memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in support of the American Lung Association of Louisiana and/or the American Diabetes Association.
