For Read Across America Day, Courtney Millet, superintendent of St. John Parish Schools, shares her love of reading with Lisette Watkins’s third-grade class at LaPlace Elementary School. She read “Chicken Soup with Rice” by Maurice Sendak to the students. She and the students then acted out the motions while singing the words “eating chicken soup with rice.”
