St. James Parish Hospital hosts employee of the quarter banquet

St. James Parish Hospital hosted a banquet to honor the 2009 Employee of the Quarter recipients. The employees of the Quarter for 2009 were Donna Labiche, Gwen Rizzuto, Mike DiCarlo and Laurie Bourgeois.
The Employee of the Quarter is nominated by other employees. The criteria for being nominated are having a positive attitude, dedication, courtesy and respect and department manager support.
Donna Labiche was nominated in the first quarter and is a Radiology Technologist/Mammogram/CT Technologist. Labiche was nominated for always finding “the right words to ease pain or fear and gets a smile on their face” as well as being able to “turn tragedy into sunshine.”
Gwen Rizzuto was nominated in the second quarter and is a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. Rizzuto exemplifies what it means to be a great nurse and employee.
Mike DiCarlo was nominated in the third quarter and is a Physical Therapy Assistant in the Rehab Department.
Not only does DiCarlo always greet all patients, visitors and employees with a smile and a good morning, he always shows a positive attitude and shows courtesy and responds to everyone.
Laurie Bourgeois was nominated in the fourth quarter and is a Respiratory Therapist in the Cardiopulmomary Department.
Bourgeois has a positive attitude. She willingly helps others. She is always asking what she could do to help.
Mary Ellen Pratt, CEO of St. James Parish Hospital, praised everyone for their hard work and dedication to the patients. She stated, “Each employee is committed to carrying out the mission of St. James Parish Hospital to provide quality, excellent and compassionate healthcare to our community. These four employees exemplify the meaning of compassion and dedication. They have gone above and beyond their job description.”
