AMITE — Riverside bounced back after a loss to Country Day last week, coming off of the New Year’s holiday stretch with a 3-1 victory at Amite Saturday in a non-district game.

Adam Fabre, Matt Graves and Mher Naljayan each scored to lift RA.

Riverside trailed early on as Amite scored the first goal of the day.

The Rebels, however, controlled the ball for much of the game, and were able to tie the game at halftime, then go ahead with a pair of scores in the second half.

“We went in looking to keep things simple. Pass it around, look to get rid of it once you have it,” said Riverside coach Stephen Millet. “Movement was a lot better Saturday. Everyone wasn’t trying to do everything individually.”

Millet said that bouncing back from the team’s 4-1 loss to the Cajuns was especially important with district play next week.

“We wanted to make sure we got off on the right foot after the break,” said Millet.
