HAHNVILLE – St. Charles Parish authorities acting on a search warrant arrested a St. Rose man for possession of child pornography, according to a release from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

John M. Vandenakker Sr., 54, 224 Riverview Drive, was arrested at his home Tuesday just before 8 p.m. following a search of the residence, according to the release. Deputies acting on the warrant recovered a desktop computer that allegedly contained files of pornographic movies involving children.

Vandenakker was booked into the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center in Killona on charges of possession of pornography with a juvenile.

Sheriff’s authorities said he was released Wednesday after posting a $100,000 bond.
