Heat. Relentless, oppressive, mind-numbing, skin-searing heat that never seems to let up has its grasp on us all.

Some are fortunate enough to be able to find relief through the thermostat that drives their air conditioner.

Others, however, aren’t as lucky. If they have A/C they may not have the money to be able to keep the setting low enough to be comfortable — and safe from the heat. And there are simply those who have neither air conditioning or the money to buy it … some are old and some aren’t … all need to be thought about as the rest of us go about our daily business.

Check on your neighbors … especially those who are older and less able to withstand the onslaught of the heat … make sure they are okay. It will only take a minute … they will appreciate it and it’s the neighborly thing to do.
