Dale Joseph “Zip” Zimmer, a native of Lutcher and a resident of Paulina, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009.  Beloved husband of 21 years to Sally LeBlanc. Devoted and loving father of Robert Lloyd and Mya Marie Zimmer of Paulina. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Lane and Cindy (Petit) of Hester, Byron and Sheila (Martin) of Lutcher and Donnie and Jalene (Duhe) of Gramercy, godchildren Dustin Zimmer, Joey Zimmer and Charritye LeMoine Green.  Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.  He also leaves behind his “extended” family who was very special to him:  Lloyd and Marsha LeBlanc, Mary LeBlanc, Gloria Gaudet, Kay Roussel and Faye Falgoust, and a very special great-nephew, Zander Gaudet of St. Amant. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gertrude Guidry Zimmer.

“Zip” was a 1971 graduate of Lutcher High School and was a loyal supporter of the LHS Quarterback Club and the LHS football team. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1817. He was always called upon to cook for numerous fundraising and other events throughout the community.

Services were held on Thursday, Feb. 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina.  Entombment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina. %
