Former Wildcat Marshall picks up second Player of the Week award

ELLISVILLE, MS — The honors continue to pile up for Jones County Junior College basketball standout Trenton Marshall.
Marshall, a 6-foot-5 guard/forward from LaPlace and a former standout at East St. John, was recently selected as the NJCAA’s Men’s Division I Player of the Week, his second selection for the award this season.
A First-Team NJCAA Preseason All-American selection, Marshall scored 92 points in three Bobcat victories in early January. He had 33 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in a 99-87 victory over Coahoma Community College. He had 26 points and four rebounds in a 91-71 win over Delgado, La. Community College. He closed the week by scoring 33 points, grabbing four rebounds, handing out three assists and getting two steals in a 92-89 win over Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
Marshall, a Jacksonville State University signee, leads the MACJC and ranks fourth in the nation with a 24.9 points per game average. He was an Honorable Mention All-American as a freshman.
