Trueman

Kenneth Edward Trueman Sr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009. He was 82. Devoted husband of Marguerite Di Betta Trueman for 60 years. Loving father of Karen T. Johnson (Charles), Kenneth E. Trueman Jr. (MaryAnn), and Kaye T. Harris (Glenn). Devoted grandfather of Laurie, Dawn, John, Samir, Travis, Abigail, Erin and Kevin and great grandfather of six. He will be missed by his cherished chihuahua Fawn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Trueman was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in the U. S. Army. He proudly served his country during the World War II, Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the American Legion Post 366 and VFW. He enjoyed woodworking, building model ships, ceramic bird collecting and baking for his family and friends at England Oaks Retirement Community in Alexandria.

Services were held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in St. Rose on Thursday, Jan. 22. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Legion, Post 366, P.O. Box 357, Destrehan, LA 70047.
