Lionel L. Perret Sr. died on Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at the age of 91, in Kenner surrounded by his family. Lionel was born on September 3, 1917, in Edgard and was resident of Norco. He is survived by seven sons and their spouses Lionel Jr. (Elaine), Elton Sr. (Clara), Carol (Cheryl), Edward Sr. (Brenda), Stephen (Debbie), Paul Sr. (Stephanie) and Perry (Kelley), 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, two sisters and their spouses Margie P. Amedee (Clemsy) and Elaine P. Becnel (late Mike), two brothers and their spouses Louis D. Perret (Pat) and Marion J. Perret (Annette) and also numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife, Angelle Louquette Perret, parents Louis Davney Perret and Daria Darensbourg Perret, two brothers and spouses Roger Perret (Edna) and Alvin Perret (Juanita), three grandsons Scott, O’Neal and Ben Perret and one daughter-in-law Ann. He retired from Shell Oil Company after 43 years of service, was a member of the Holy Name Society and recipient of the St. Louis Medallion.

Visitation was held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco on Monday, Jan. 12. Entombment followed in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan.
