Haydel

Hazel Tregre Haydel passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at 2:30 a.m. at Ochsner Medical Center. A native of Hahnville. A graduate of Charity Hospital Nursing School, Registered Nurse at an amputee hospital during World War II and an assistant to Dr. David Vial for 35 years. She was a Catholic. Survivors include: sons – David Haydel and his wife, Juanita; Randall Haydel and his wife, Carol; Mark Haydel and his wife, Veronica; Neal Haydel; Brett Haydel and his wife, Tammy; Clay Haydel and Allen Haydel and his wife, Leah; daughters – Barbara Burk and her husband, Chuck; and Janet Faucheux and her husband, Tommy; sister, Earlie Ann Hrncir and her husband, Dan; brothers – Percy Tregre and his wife, Geraldine; Arthur Tregre; Roy Tregre and his wife, Brooke; and Wilbert Tregre and his wife, Pud; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Louis Stephen Haydel, parents Arthur Tregre Sr. and Edna Tregre and brother Lester Tregre. Visitation and services were held on Thursday, November 20, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville Interment followed in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft.

Heier

Shirley A. Sears Heier on Monday November 17, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. Beloved wife of Joseph R. Heier. Mother of Joseph E. Heier and Kathleen S. Hinton. Grandmother of Aimee Hinton Edmonds, Sheri Heier Courtney, Kyle Heier and Shannon Hinton. Great-grandmother of Brooke and Brennan Edmonds and Kellen Heier. Also survived by numerous friends. Age 83 years. A native of Kansas City and a resident of LaPlace for the past 18 years.

Visitation and services were held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace on Wednesday, November 19. Burial in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery in LaPlace.

Landry

Audrey Mae Landry on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at 12:45 a.m. Beloved wife of Melvin Landry. Mother of Pamela L. Lemoine and husband Leonard. Grandmother of Sarah Adams and husband Steven. Step-grandmother of Leonard Lemoine Jr. Great-grandmother of Morgan and Brooklyn. Daughter of the late John and Antoinette Landry. Sister of John Jr. and Garland Landry, the late Arthur and Rudolph Landry, Helen Ory, Ethel Badeaux and Clara Melancon. Special thanks to Hospice of South La. Age 81. A native and resident of Garyville.

Visitation and services were held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace on Thursday, November 20. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

Maquar

Victor “Vic” Maquar on Sunday, November 16, 2008, at 9:35 a.m. Beloved husband of Juliette Maurin Maquar. Father of Charlotte Iriarte and husband Juan, Cynthia Harrison and husband Perry and Cheryl Entremont and husband Mark. Also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Philip Maquar Jr. and Lorraine Dantin. Age 84. A native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace for the past 55 years.

Visitation and services were held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace on Wednesday, November 19. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

St. Pierre

Jessie J. St. Pierre passed away on Monday, November 17, 2008, at 10:24 p.m. at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. A native of Grand Point and longtime resident of Kenner. Age 86. He was a Catholic. Survivors: sons: Gerard St. Pierre of Kenner and Brian St. Pierre of Wilmer, La.; sisters: Bridget Martin of Paulina; Lorraine Matherne of Paulina; Marguerite Brown of Gramercy; Ina Mae Veron of Lutcher; and Ida Louise Roddy of Gramercy; brothers: Freddie St. Pierre of Destrehan; Harry St. Pierre of Paulina; Warren St. Pierre of Paulina; Glynn St. Pierre of Paulina; and George St. Pierre of Paulina; and two grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: wife, Theresa St. Pierre; parents, Louis Chanel and Hermina St. Pierre; and brothers; Louis Jr.; Manuel and John St. Pierre.

Visitation and services were held on Thursday, November 20 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Webb

Mell Webb Sr., 66, died Sunday, November 15, 2008. A native of Lettsworth, La., and resident of LaPlace, he was husband of Farlene Anderson Webb, father of Mell Webb Jr. and Frederick Parker, son of the late Emil and Mary Dent Webb, brother of Thomas Webb, Joseph Webb, Annie Tolliver, Henry Webb, Delia Courtney and Mack Webb and grandfather of Devin, Pores, Paige and Payton. Visitation and services will be held on Saturday, November 24, at New Wine Christian Fellowship Church in LaPlace. Interment in St. John Memorial Gardens.
