Folse
Grace Folse, 81, died July 17, 2008. The native and resident of Bayou Gauche was wife of the late Ernest J. Folse Sr., mother of Ernest Folse, Russell Folse, Linda Bolliot, Ruth Foster, the late Ralph Folse and Veronica Folse, daighter of the late Paul and Cecile Dufrenia, sister of Wilfred Dufrene, Vincent Dufrene, the late Jimmy Dufrene, Lucille Maherne, Azilda Comardelle and Kathy Robinson.
Visitatin and services were held Saturday, July 19, at Life Fellowship Community Church in Bayou Gauche. Interment in Sunset Cemetery.
Hymel
Clement Etienne Hymel, 84, entered eternal life on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at his home in Metairie, La., after an extended illness. A native of Edgard and Reserve and resident of New Orleans and Metairie for the past 60 years. Beloved husband of 59 years of the late Rose Mae Triche Hymel. Mr. Hymel was loved and cherished by daughters Debra Hymel DiLeo, Angela Hymel Songy, and son Dr. Glenn M. Hymel; sons-in-law Joseph DiLeo II and Donald Songy; eight grandchildren, Judy Hymel Brouillette, Steven Hymel, Donna Hymel, Michael Hymel, Joey DiLeo, Ryan DiLeo, Nicole Songy, and Donny Songy; three great grandsons, Sean, Jason, and Andrew Brouillette; and sister Rose H. Trosclair.
He is preceded in death by his parents Etienne Clement Hymel and Regina Songy Hymel; his sister, Blandine H. Williams; and brothers Gerard Hymel, Albin Hymel, and Arnold Hymel.
Mr. Hymel retired as a Chief Petty Officer with 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy and as a postal clerk with 18 years in the U.S. Postal Service. During World War II, he was the recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation for service aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise in the Pacific Theatre.
Services were on Saturday, July 19, at St. Peter’s Church in Reserve. Internment in St. Peter’s Mausoleum.
James
Jermaine “Bo-Bo” “Turtle-P” James, 23, died July 13, 2008. The Donaldsonville resident was son of Ida Mae James and the late Lionel Byrd, father of Zakira Lacy, brother of Sabrina LeBlanc, Regina, Michelle, Tremaine and Danielle James and Lionel Anderson.
Visitation and services were held Saturday, July 19, at Mt. Salem Baptist Church in Donaldsonville. Interment in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in St. James.
Jupiter
Shirley Marie Jupiter on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Chabert Medical Center, Houma. Daughter of the late Bertrand Jackson and Mildred Anthony. Mother of Jessica (Eugene) Auguillard, Edith, Anitra, Berthord, Kimberly, Travis and Shaquota Jupiter and Abraham Jackson. Sister of Barbara (Rayfield, Jr.) White, Mary Walker, Inette (Leonard) London, Vanessa Toney, Berley (Tony) Gilbert, Alvin Jupiter, Bertrand (Lydia) Jupiter, Cornell (Melinda) Toney, the late Marie Holmes, Berthord and Douglas Jupiter. Step sister of Willie and Wardell (Linda) Strickland. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 54 years. A native and resident of Killona.
Visitation and services were at Canaan Baptist Church in Killona on Saturday, July 19. Interment Greenhill Cemetery in Taft.
Schwarz
Hazel Troxclair Schwarz on Thursday, July 17, 2008, at 1:15p.m. Beloved daughter of the late Lezaine and Bertha Champagne Troxclair. Sister of Allen Troxclair of Atlanta, Ga., Gladys T. Toups of Texas, Sophie T. Clesi of Metairie and the late Glenn and Huey Troxclair and Lillian T. Petrocelli. Sister-in-law of Mary Helen Troxclair and Sue Troxclair. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. Age 80 years. A native of Mt. Airy, La. and a resident of Metairie, La. for the past 60 years.
Visitation and services were held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace on Monday, July 21. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve, La.
