The Riverside golf team hosted Destrehan for a nine-hole match on Wednesday at Belle Terre, and playing the ball down in preparation for the upcoming regional championship created issues for both teams – almost equally, in fact.
The Rebels and Wildcats tied with a score of 185 each. Cory Andry led Riverside with a score of 42. Wesley Borne and Rob Doyle each chipped in a 46. Chris Sharpless scored a 52.
For Destrehan, Andre Messina led the way with a score of 42. Ryan Steib posted a 43. Mike Brignac added a 46, and Steven Bleakley a 54 for Destrehan.
On Thursday, Lutcher hosted the Rebels at Riverlands. This time, Riverside was victorious, posting a score of 182 to Lutcher’s 203.
Doyle led the Rebels with a score of 41. Sharpless scored a 45, while Borne and Andry tied with a 48 to round out the Rebel scoring.
For Lutcher, Kaleb Clement (42) and Reece Mabile (49) led the way. Corey Merril shot a 54 and Mason Bland a 58 for the Bulldogs.
