On the anniversary of the landing of Okinawa, Marine Corps Veterans from World War II and the Ladies Auxiliary performed a flag retirement ceremony for students at St. Charles Borromeo School in Destrehan.  During the ceremony veterans commemorated events in American History represented by the stars and stripes of our flag.  Veterans explained to the students the proper retirement for honoring American flags that are no longer able to be flown.
