Riverside wrapped up an undefeated district season on      Thursday, and the Lady Rebels did it as they have throughout district season – with another dominating performance.

The 10-2A champion Rebels defeated McGehee 15-0 in five innings by the 10-run rule at Riverside, making it 10-for-10 District play this year.

“It was a good way to wrap district play up, with our 20th win,” said Riverside Coach Kristy Hebert. “We played well today, especially defensively.”

Riverside scored four runs in the first inning and three in the second before all but slamming the door in the third inning. There, Riverside scored seven runs, making it 15-0 and marking the sixth time in 10-2A play that the Rebels scored 10 runs or more.

It was all the support that starting pitcher Stephanie LeBlanc needed. LeBlanc (1-0) went all five innings and struck out nine. LeBlanc allowed only one hit in the game.

At the plate, Marci Millet went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. Taylor Terrio was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Ayla Vicknair was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Now, Riverside sets its sights on the postseason. With only two games remaining, Hebert says the Rebels will do some fine-tuning next week.

“We feel like we are prepared for the playoffs,” said Hebert. “But we’ll be making some little tweaks and adjustments to help us get ready.”
