Buckner
Norman William Buckner, 91, died March 11, 2008. The Gramercy resident is survived by his wife Myrdis Nobile Buckner; two sons, Norman Keric and Brad Stephen Buckner; Grandchildren, Stacey Kiernan McVey Buckner, Briant Keric Nobile Buckner, Caroline Blair Mitchel Buckner, Norman Christopher Page Buckner, Meghan Laird Livaudais Buckner, Emily Sarah Collins Buckner, and Lauren Ainsley Fridriek.
Preceded in death by his parents George and Urilla Walters Buckner, son Blane Nobile Buckner and a brother, Bryan Wilson Buckner.
Visitation was March 16, 2008, at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, and March 17, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Paulina, LA, with funeral services following.
Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
Chopin
Maude “Maw Maude” Chopin, 93, died March 19, 2008. The Vacherie resident was the wife of the late Marshal Chopin. She is survived in death by a daughter, Evelyn Bethancourt, and a son, Lester Chopin. Preceded in death by her brother, the late Alfred Peters. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26, at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Vacherie, starting at 9 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., and interment will be at the St. Phillip Cemetery.
Zeringue
Stanley J. “Bud” Zeringue, 61, died March 21, 2008. The Gramercy native is survived by his parents, Joseph and Marie Hymel Zeringue, sisters, Constance and Joann Zeringue, and a brother-in-law, Tommy Zeringue. Visitation was held Monday, March 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with a funeral service following. His burial was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Paulina, La.
Borne
Leopold Baptist Borne, Jr., 82, died March 24, 2008. The Edgard and Norco resident is survived by his wife, Ursula H. Borne; three sons, Robert J. Borne, Keith F. Borne, and Brent J. Borne; and two daughters, Shannon O’Pry, and Alaine Borne. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leopold, Sr. and Denise Borne; and siblings, Denise Borne, Claire Guidry, Eddie Borne, Theodore Borne, Roger Borne, and Whitney Borne. Visitation was held Wednesday, March 26, at the H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. A religious service followed at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan. Interment at St. Charles Cemetery.
Darr
Edward Darr, 32, died March 22, 2008. The LaPlace resident is survived by his wife, Melissa Lewis Darr; two sons, Edward R. Darr, Jr., and Brandon Michael Darr; three brothers, George, Joseph, and Michael Darr; and sister, Carolyn Cornwell. He is the son of George and Gay Nell Badeaux Darr. Visitation was held Thursday, March 27, at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace. A funeral service followed in the funeral home chapel. He is to be buried at Garden of Memories in Metairie.
Graugnard
Evelyn Montz Graugnard, 85, died March 24, 2008. The Reserve native was the wife of Leon Graugnard, mother and mother-in-law of Gordon and Mary Guidry, Jon and Loraine Guidry, and Rebecca and Peter Roccaforte, Jr. She is the sister of Ruth Levet, Za Montz, Ruffin Montz, and the late Florence Vicknair, Ruby Roussel, Helmuth Montz, Sr., Henry Montz, Sr., and Eddie Montz. Visitation and funeral services were held Thursday, March 27, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.
Lagrange
Walter Michael Lagrange, 50, died March 22, 2008. The Hahnville native and Boutte resident was the son of Rev. Allen Lagrange, Melvin Hebert, and the late Leana Hebert. He was the father of Michael Kendrick Lagrange, Katina Hydell, Keaundra Morris, Kyla Thomas, and Kanisha Paul. Lagrange was the brother of Cynthia Mollaire, Allen Lagrange, Jr., Janice Charles, Robin Boyd, Kim Lagrange, Shelita Mott, Clarence Kenner, Jr., Theresa Kenner, and Frederick Kenner. Visitation was held Friday, March 28, at True Vine Baptist Church in Hahnville, with a funeral service following. Interment at Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery.
