Cortez

Lucy Pelotto Cortez, 86, died Saturday, March 1, 2008. The Des Allemands native is survived by son, Clyde Matherne. Also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Etienne Cortez; parents, Octavia Bye and Joseph Pelotto; brothers, Joe Lunk, Joseph, Sam and Oscar Pelotto; sisters, Adele Usie.

Services were Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the Kenner Funeral Home of L.A. Muhleisen and Son. Interment followed in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Des Allemands.

Gaudet

Glenda Pierre Gaudet, 55, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008. The Edgard native is survived by mother, Anita Burke; sons, Jarrett Jude and Haven Christopher Gaudet; brothers, Warren, James and Darrell Pierre. Also survived by two grandsons.

Preceded in death by husband, Ronald James Gaudet; father, Rufus Pierre; brother, Alvin Pierre.

Funeral services are Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. from St. john the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, LA. Father Joel Cantones officiating. Entombment will follow in church mausoleum. Jumpiere

Samuel Jumpiere, Jr., 83, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008. The St. James native is survived by sons, Samuel III, Casey and Donald Jumpiere; sister, Mary Minor. Also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents Samuel Sr. and Stella Green Jumpiere; son, David Jumpiere, Sr.

Funeral services were Saturday, March1, 2008 at Davis Mortuary Service in Marrero. Interment followed in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Westwego.

Schexnaydre

Mable Marie Schexnaydre, 79, died Saturday, March 1, 2008. The New Sarpy resident is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Rock Louis and Marie Olivia Zeringue Schexnaydre; sister, Mildred Schexnaydre Webre.

Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at St. Charles Borromeo in Destrehan. Interment followed in the church mausoleum.

Tarullo

Adelaide Saucler Tarullo, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008. The Norco native is survived by sons, Kevin, Kirk, Saucler; daughters, Sharon Mahan, Cathy Jouty and Dalna Cambre; sisters, Sylvia Louvlere, Coral and Miriam Falgout. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by husbands, Louis “L.J.” Saucler and Frank Tarullo; parents, Victor and Emily Falgout; daughter, Trudy St. Amant; brothers, Victor, Daniel, Eldon and Harold Falgout. Also preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 at Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Arrangements by H.C Alexander Funeral Home in Norco.

Washington

Barry Joseph “Popeye” Washington, 50, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008. The Paulina resident is survived by mother, Annie Keller Washington; daughter, Taquila DuHone; sisters, Betty Clayton, Marlene Pittman, Lorraine, Linda and Stacy Washington; brothers, Barvick and Larry Washington. Also survived by two grandchildren.

Preceded in death by father, Joseph Washington; sisters, Debra Antoinette, Julianna Washington and LeAnn Fluence.

Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, March 1, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Paulina. Interment followed in Church Cemetery.
