For the second time in a week, Riverside and host Independence were locked in a game-ending tie, 2-2, on Monday.

Nick Moock scored both goals for the Rebels (1-2-2).

“It was a very physical game,” said Riverside Coach Daniel Waguespack. “We were able to pass the ball well and some of our guys stepped up big.”

Rebels’ leading scorer Jesse LeBlanc missed the game, but Waguespack credited Moock and Matthew Ballard for raising their games in his absence.

The game was tied 1-1 at halftime. Independence took the lead in the second half until five minutes remained in regulation. Moock scored off of a Rebels direct kick from 35-yards away, which would be the final score of the day.

“Independence has a very good, talented team,” said Waguespack. “Everything’s started to click for us in this one.”
