Jarid Caesar rushed for 239 yards and three touchdowns to pace Riverside as the Rebels ended the regular season with an offensive explosion, defeating district rival Fisher, 62-27.

The performance put Caesar over 1000 yards rushing for the fourth consecutive season.

Riverside (6-4, 1-3) has taken off offensively as the playoffs approach, scoring 42, 55 and 62 points over the final three games.

“The offense is playing with a lot of confidence,” said Riverside Coach Mickey Roussel. “We’re hitting on all cylinders. We feel good about it, and this is a good time to do it.”

Riverside will travel to Spring Hill in the bi-district round of the postseason.

Jade Falgoust ran 11 times for 67 yards and two touchdowns. He also was 5-of-10 passing for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Remi Poirrier ran 7 times for 35 yards and caught two passes for 50 yards and a touchdown, while Bobby Smith caught two passes for 51 yards and a score.

As a team, the Rebels ran 41 times for 331 yards.

Fisher (3-6, 0-4) scored twice early to take leads of 6-0 and 12-7, but Riverside soon took off, never to look back.

Caesar scored his second touchdown of the game in the second quarter, a 1-yard run that made it 14-12. Later in the quarter, Falgoust found Smith deep for a 39-yard score to make it 20-12 at the half, after the extra point attempt failed.

“The game was pretty close early, 14-12 late in the first half” Roussel said. “We had a nice drive before the half

In the third quarter, the Rebels broke loose, scoring 23 points and seizing away any doubt of the end result. Falgoust scored on runs of 4 and 18-yards to make it 34-12. Falgoust found Poirrier for a 27-yard score to make it 41-12. Fisher would not score again until the fourth quarter.

Wade Laiche and Jordan Rebaldo would each score before the game’s conclusion, the latter scoring on a 38-yard fumble recovery.

In all, the Rebels put up 42 points in the second half to ice the game.

“To put up 42 points in a half is kind of unbelievable,” Roussel said. “We just hit our stride.”
