Camallo

Michael J. Camallo, 53, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Friday, May 4, 2007.
He was the son of Rita Abadie Camallo and the late Salvadore “Mike” Camallo and the brother of Kathy Camallo, Brenda Condrey and Becky Davis. He is also survived by nieces and a nephew.
Services were held Friday, May 11 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace.
Duroncelay
Althia Duroncelay, 47, a native of Houma and a resident of LaPlace for 14 years, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007.
She was the wife of Paul Duroncelay III, the daughter of the late Johnny and Clara Ballard and the sister of Regina Winslow, Sheila Starks and Earl, Merlin and Steve Ballard. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 12, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 1987 Hwy. 311, Schriever, with services at 11 a.m., followed by interment at the church cemetery.
Fayard
Huey “Buck” Fayard, 48, a resident of LaPlace, died Saturday, May 5, 2007.
He was the husband of Denise Fayard, father of Paul, Cassie and Megan Fayard, the step-father of Sheila McNabb and the grandfather of Logan McNabb. He was also the son of Elizabeth Brookshire Guedry and the late Anatyle Fayard, step-son of Joseph Pat Guedry, brother of Millie Fayard, Theresa Hollister and Connie Ferrell. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation and services were held Friday, May 11, 2007 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace. Burial to be private at a later date.
Millet
Louise Vicknair Millet, 92, a native and resident of Reserve, died Thursday, May 10, 2007.
She was the wife of Dennis Millet, mother of Clarence Millet and the late Joseph “J.D.” Millet, grandmother of Dennis and Tyler Millet and Lacy Brady. She was also the daughter of the late Frank and Mollie Bossier Vicknair and sister of the late Caffrey, Michel, Fortune and Trezema Vicknair, Leotine Luminais, Juliet Lacour, Adele Cambre and Viola St. Martin.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 12, 2007 from 9-11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve, followed by services at 11 a.m. and burial in church cemetery.
Sterling
Ronald “Lee Dell” Sterling, 53, a native and resident of Garyville, died Thursday, May 3, 2007.
He was the son of the late Andrew and Lillie Mae Sterling, father or Jamar Lipps and Nikkie and Terrielana Sterling, brother of Demarris Francois and Sandra, Parlar, Rockey, Stacy, Pernell and Andrew Sterling Jr.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 9 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 144 Little Hope St., Garyville, with services at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.
Thornton
Gwendolyn Janatha Thornton, 55, a native of Reserve and resident of Shreveport, died Sunday, May 6, 2007.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Thornton; children, Billy Sanders and LaShan Hollis; three step-children, Sherrie, Troy and Jamal Thornton; and two grandchildren. She was also the daughter of Willie and Eula Johnson and the sister of Sandra Weston and Willie Jr., Larry D. and Warren E. Johnson. She is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services are Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m. at Baptist Temple Baptist Church, Shreveport and Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 9 a.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 9700 Scenic Hwy. Baton Rouge followed by interment at Southern Memorial Gardens.
