DESTREHAN – The St. Charles Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pair of armed robberies in Destrehan that occured earlier this week within a one-mile radius of each other.

On Monday a man was robbed of a small amount of cash while walking his dog on Ormond Village Drive and the following day another man forced a female employee to empty a cash register at a gas station on Ormond Boulevard.

While walking his dog on the 100 block of Ormond Village Drive at approximately 11 p.m., a Destrehan man saw a blue Chevrolet full-size truck pass by when he heard a voice from behind him say, &#8220Show me what you got.”

A man, dressed in a white t-shirt and jeans and approximately 19 years old, allegedly followed the man and again said, &#8220Show me what you got.”

The Destrehan man hesitated for a moment thinking he recognized his follower, when the 19-year-old reportedly pulled out a semi-automatic gun and told him, &#8220Give me what you got.”

The Destrehan resident agreed to his demands and handed over all the cash in his pocket before his robber fled on foot and hopped in the passenger side of the Chevrolet truck, then sped off with an unidentified man driving, according to Capt. Pat Yoes, a spokesman for the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office.

The next day, at an unreported time, a fully concealed man wearing a black knit hat, long-sleeved black t-shirt with yellow lettering, a red bandanna and sunglasses walked into the BP station on the 1900 block of Ormond Boulevard in Destrehan.

He reportedly brandished an unidentified handgun and demanded the cashier turn over the money in the register, which she agreed to, before he and another man fled the scene.

The St. Charles Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information on either case contact 985-783-6807.
