LAPLACE – The LaPlace Rotary Club is currently seeking applications for the District 6840 Rotary Foundation Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to college students who study abroad.

Students must have completed at least two years of study already, and be prepared to be an ambassador for the Rotary Club in their study work in another country.

Applicants are expected to return to District 6840 after the scholarship year in order to present talks and meet their commitments to Rotary Clubs.

The district deadline for receiving applications is May 31, 2007 for the current 2008-2009 scholarship. This year, District 6840 will award two scholarships.

A district committee interview for finalists will be held in either late June or early July, 2007, and any candidates must be available at that time for the interview.

More information about the scholarship, along with an application form, is available at www.rotary.org.
