LUTCHER- Brothers killing brothers. It would seem to be a scenario from our nation’s Civil War Era, but it still happens, as evidenced by one shooting in St. James Parish.
On January 20, 2007 the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a shooting in Lutcher.
According to a press release issued by Sheriff Willy J. Martin, the police received the call from 2630 King Avenue in Lutcher. The caller advised officers that he had shot his brother in the stomach.
The release stated that Dammon Lockett, 24, of Lutcher, allegedly shot his brother Brandon Adams, 21, of Lutcher, during an argument that escalated violently at their home.
Lockett was booked on one count of attempted second-degree murder and was awaiting a bond hearing.
Adams was transported to East St. John Medical Center and later to Thibodeaux Regional Medical center where he died of his wound.
