LAPLACE-The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Reserve man for a second time in less than two months for similar crimes.

Tramond Bourgeois, 18, of Reserve was arrested Tuesday for possession of stolen things, possession of burglary tools, criminal damage to property and resisting an officer by flight.

He was last arrested on October 15 when deputies caught Bourgeois with the help of K-9 units as he was fleeing the scene of several vehicle burglaries, said Mike Tregre, spokesperson for St. John Sheriff’s Office.

Bourgeois confessed to the burglaries at that time and was later released on bond.

&#8220In the latest incident on Tuesday, Bourgeois was caught with a bag in his possession that contained several pieces of stereo equipment, and burglary tools,” Tregre said.

According to the report, officers spotted Bourgeois carrying the bag and approached him to interview him when he began to flee. He was later taken into custody after a 10-minute foot chase.

&#8220Bourgeois also had a stolen cell phone and police discovered that the owner of the cell phone had had his Ford Ranger Broken into previously and reported his window shattered and property taken from the vehicle,” Tregre said.

Bourgeois had been released on November 13, 2006 after being held for the previous burglaries.

Bond for Bourgeois this time around is set at $39,250.
