Lutcher has a tall order in store when they take on Independance in the Dome this Friday.

Independance has an undefeated record so far this year and is looking for their 15th victory to complete a run at the state championship.

Lutcher brings in an 11-2 record, but has looked dominant in their 11 wins while their losses came to experienced 5A clubs.

The Independance squad meanwhile has been prolific this year, outscoring opponents 437-112. They’ve been truly contested in only one outing against Amite and have blown through the post-season past White, Catholic and Rayville.

The Bulldogs trip through the post-season has seen them get past Patterson, Baker and Notre Dame, but haven’t been in danger of being ousted in any of those rounds of play. Lutcher is averaging more than 30 points a game while giving up just more than 15.

Lutcher is making thier first trip back to the state championship since their 2003 finish against Notre Dame where the Bulldogs captured the championship.
