NATCHITOCHES — Riverside’s Jesse LeBlanc and St. Charles’ Reyna Lubin were the top finishers for River Parish schools with an eleventh and a twenty-fourth place finish respectively in the cross-country state meet on Tuesday.

On a course that grew increasingly muddy through the week, Lubin finished up first on the Lady Comets team with a time of 24:47. LeBlanc crossed the line with a 18:45, which was just more than a minute away from the race leader Steven Jeanson of Menard.

East St. John had a pair of guys in the top 100 of the boys 5A race as Robert DeHoyas and James Carroll finished four spots away from one another with times just over 19 minutes. James Travis, Steven Haniford, Pratt Charmer and Steven Watson also finished the race to put ESJ at 29th place in team standings.

Joining LeBlanc in the boys 2A race, St. Charles’ Chris Boesen finished in 24th while teammate Lucas Roussel finished 42nd. Dominick Maggio and Mark Folse rounded out the Comets runners in the top 100 to help SCC to an eighth place team finish.

On the girls side, Lubin was joined on the SCC squad by Ericka Blank, who finished 52nd, along with Angelica Cardenas and Joanna Casadaban in the top 100. Chantelle Calmes, Danielle Cintron and Melissa Newman rounded out the SCC scorers to a 13th place finish.

For Riverside girls, Jenny LeBlanc and Alexandra Burns finished right around the top 100.
