EDGARD – The St. John Sheriff’s office is still looking for an unidentified gunman who opened fire on two Edgard residents Sunday.

Officers were dispatched to 116 W. 3rd St. after a resident reported several shots had been fired at him upon exiting his vehicle. The victim and his wife were forced to take cover behind a nearby residence, according to Maj. Mike Tregre.

Further investigation by deputies revealed a bullet had struck the victim’s left rear tire and rim. Authorities have no suspects at this time and are still investigating the incident.
