RESERVE — Davis Sinclair, wanted by the St. John Sheriff’s Office since mid-February on drug-related charges by the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, was arrested June 16 in Jefferson Parish.
Sinclair, 25, of Reserve, escaped after a brief pursuit when last spotted by local deputies, according to Maj. Mike Tregre, spokesman for the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, who said a warrant was issued for Davis Sinclair on Feb. 13, two days after he fled from officers in a motor vehicle, then on foot.
He was apprehended in Jefferson Parish by state Probation and Parole officers, but in the days following the Gonzalez shooting, that information was not immediately reported to St. John Parish until last week, Tregre noted.
Sinclair’s passenger, Davis King, 48, was arrested at the scene and remains in custody on a $75,500 bond, set by Judge Mary Hotard Becnel. King was charged with enter/remain in place after forbidden, or trespassing, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute ecstasy, according to information provided by the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Sinclair faces charges of trespassing, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, resisting an officer by flight in a motor vehicle, resisting an officer by flight on foot, possession with intent to distribute 566 grams of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute 78 tabs of ecstasy, according to Tregre.
