Man shot outside LaPlace bar

LAPLACE — The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 26-year-old LaPlace man who allegedly shot a 36-year-old LaPlace man early Saturday morning.

Maj. Mike Tregre, spokesman for the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, said Shawn Fisher identified Jermaine Gregoire as the one who shot him.

&#8220Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Second Street in LaPlace, after a shooting was reported around 1:30 a.m.,” Tregre said.

&#8220Fisher was found lying between two parked cars behind a local bar,”he added.

Tregre said officers found several shell casings in the vicinity where Fisher was found.

Fisher was shot three times, in the back, lower torso and in the leg, leaving him partially paralyzed.

Even though Gregoire was identified, he was nowhere to be found.

According to Tregre, Fisher was initially at the River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace, but was transferred to Ocshner.

Gregoire is still being sought.
