LULING – Mary Allen, 70, native of South Dakota and a resident of Luling, died Feb. 24.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Dean Allen, Daniel and Stacy Allen, Sherie and James Morgan, Christina and Brian Triche, John and Helena Ford and Mike and Celeste Ford.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Mary Catherine, Sophia, Ginger, Daniel, Jerry, Jessica, Travis, Brianna, Aaron, Craig, Sarah, Ryan and Mikey, great-grandchildren Zoe, Madeline, Blaze and Maya, siblings Dwight, Peggy and Alice and stepparent Eldeen Friese.
She was preceded in death by her mother Laura Friese.
Services were held March 2 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with private interment.
BARDELL
MT. AIRY – Marjorie
“Slicko” Bardell, 83, a native of Mt. Airy and resident of Baton Rouge, died Feb. 24. She was the wife of the late Dallas Bardell Sr., and mother of Mercedes Houston, Debra Poche, Kerry, Kenneth and Dallas Bardell Jr., and stepmother of Johnell Howard Sr.
She was also the daughter of the late James Sr., and Louise Farlough, and sister of the late Hattie Howard, Audrey Francois, Ethel Joseph, Mable Wisham, Mildred Gray, Bertha Keys, Edna Ross, Beulah Nicholas, Ernest Sr., Earl, James, the Rev. Joseph and Mable Farlough.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
Bardell’s M ortuary is in charge of arrangements.
D’ARENSBOURG
LULING – Marguerite Marie Dinvaut D’Arensbourg, 85, a native of Edgard and a resident of Luling, died Sept. 16.
She was the wife of the late Norman N. D’Arensbourg.
She is survived by her children Norman N. D’Arensbourg Jr. and Glenn D’Arensbourg Sr.
She is also survived by her siblings Franceline D. Bordenave, Theresa D. Hicklin and Gloria D. Allain, grandchildren Jeannee D’Arensbourg, Jate’m D’Arensbourg Guillory, Jolenn D’Arensbourg and Glenn D’Arensbourg Jr. and great-grandchildren Scott Guillory jr., Lindsey Guillory, Glenn D’Arensbourg III and Nickolas D’Arensbourg.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alice Moll and Ferdinand Dinvaut and siblings Ruth D. Duronslet, Eleanora D. Biagas, Alice D. Banderas, Pearl, Ferdinand III, Newton, Rupert and Joseph Dinvaut.
Services were held March 2 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, with interment in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.
GALATAS
GARYVILLE – Rose Duhe Galatas, 80, a native of Reserve and a resident of Garyville, died Feb. 28.
She was the wife of the late T.J. “Buddy” Galatas.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Karen G. and Lanny Cambre, Catherine G. and Gerald Templet and Barry and Kathy Galatas.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Louise Millet Duhe and siblings Eunice Tassin, Cecile Cooper, Early, Murphy, Lester, Leroy and Harris Duhe.
Services were held March 2 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
WAGUESPACK
LAPLACE – Ezell Jones Waguespack, on Feb. 4 went to Heaven to join her husband Benjamin F. Waguespack Jr., son Brett F. Waguespack and parents, Marvin Conklin Jones and Susie Jane Durr.
She will be missed by her daughter Susan Laurent and husband Duane of Lewisville, TX, daughter-in-law Debby Cagle and husband Waynne of Robeline, LA, grandchildren Sarah Laurent of Denton, TX, David Waguespack and wife Kay of Scottsdale, AZ, Christopher Waguespack of Shreveport, LA and Shirah Bordelon and husband Greg of Robeline, LA, great-grandchildren Mallory and Dominick Waguespack and Layla Bordelon, sister Connie Daniel and husband Gene, sisters-in-law Helen Borne, Irene Monica and husband Ron, Carolyn Monroe, brother-in-law Walter Waguespack and wife Aurelie and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She celebrated her 79th birthday on Christmas Day 2005. She was a retired school teacher from St. John the Baptist Parish.
She was a longtime resident of Reserve and LaPlace, LA. She was a resident of Lewisville, TX at the time of her death.
Services were held Feb. 10 at the Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel, LaPlace, with interment in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Arthritis Foundation in her memory, preferred.
