DESTREHAN – Infant Dominick Anthony Duplantis, 4-months-old, a resident of Destrehan, died Feb. 17. He was the son of David and Gail Ferrara Duplantis.
He is survived by his granparents Albert and Jeannie Boudreaux, Anthony and Debbie Ferrara and Scott and Linda Stauffer.
He is also survived by his great-grandmother Dominick Paul Boudreaux, Mr. and Mrs. Bon Temp Mayes and godparents Daniel Duplanits and Dawn Fabre.
Services were held Feb. 23 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment in the church mausoleum.
MOHENG
NEW SARPY – Virginia Isabell Serrett Moheng, 68, a native of Mt. Pleasant, TN and a resident of New Sarpy.
She is survived by her children John (Dorothy) Moheng and Melissa (Bart) Berteau.
She is also survived by her siblings Ben and Harold Gene and Imogene and Francis and six grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 24 at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, with interment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery, St. Rose.
RAINEY
LAPLACE – James Rainey, 71, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 13. He was the husband of Shirley Rainey.
He is survived by his children Regan Tyler and Meggon Gray.
He is also survived by his sister Almetta Ursin, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister-in-law.
Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment in Bethlehem Cemetery, Reserve.
ROUSSEL
PAULINA – Percy Vincent Roussel, 86, a native and resident of Paulina, died Feb. 20. He was the husband of the late Celina Cornet Roussel.
He is survived by his children Millie R. Matherne, Thomas Bourgeois and Mark Roussel.
He is also survived by his siblings Eunice Deroche, Rowena Laroze, Joyce Bourgeois and Janice Millet, son and daughters-in-law Pat Matherne, Myrtle Bourgeois, Gail Roussel and Linda Bourgeois, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Hermine Roussel, two sons Lester Bourgeois Jr. and Calvin Bourgeois and siblings Gerald “Jerry Coon” Roussel, Randolph Roussel, Florisca Roussel and Beverly Badeaux.
Services were held Feb. 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment in the church mausoleum.
WEMPREN
LAPLACE – Rita Tabb Wempren, 80, a native of Edgard and a resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 21.
She is survived by her children Horace and Dennis Ponville.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her children Davis Ponville, Mary Trosclair, Theresa Tassin and Rose Agrocia.
Services were held Feb. 24 at the Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel, LaPlace, with interment in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
