RESERVE – Marvalle Acosta Caronna, 70, a native of Reserve and a resident of Livingston, died Jan. 12. She was the wife of the late Benny Caronna.

She is survived by her children Cindy Caronna, Nicholas (Lynn) Caronna and Tricia (Harvey) Weber.

She is also survived by her sister Virgie Volion, grandchildren Blake, Brian and Rebecca Caronna, Rachelle Pierce, Heather and Amanda Triche, great-grandchild Peyton Pierce and companion Michael Lenard, friend Dot Volion and her dog &#8220Black Girl”.

She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret &#8220Maggie” and Ernest Acosta, siblings Melvina Acosta and Donna Mae Acosta and half-brothers Roy and Roger Acosta.

Services were held Jan. 16 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, wit interment in the church cemetery.

EDWARDS

BRODEN – Kelvin Broden Edwards, 43, a native of St. James and a resident of New Orleans, died Jan. 7. He was the son of the late Herbert Edwards Sr. and Guessina Carter Broden.

He is survived by his siblings Herbert Jr., Carolyn E. Stewart, Jacqueline, Lionel, Samuel, Lucille (Herman) Charles, Brenda, Dianne and Darlene Broden.

He is also survived by his friend Nancy Sole and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step-father Rev. Edward &#8220Shorty” Broden Sr.

Services were held Jan. 17 at St. Luke Baptist Church, St. James, with interment in the church cemetery.

LUCAS

Clementine &#8220Nooti” Weber Lucas, 56, a native of Edgard and a resident of Vacherie, died Jan. 11. She was the wife of John &#8220Pappy” Lucas Sr.

She is survived by her children John Jr., Jynell, Delacy, and Andreanlice Lucas.

She is also survived by her step-children Karen Batiste, Andrew Brooks, Kevin, Kenneth and Keith Simoneaux, siblings Barbara (Joseph) LaBranch and Stanley (Gloria) Weber Jr., godchildren Patrick Major and Jacelyn James and aunts Viola, Weber, Taylor, Alma Weber, Majorie Lumar and Thelma Lumar.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Stanley Weber Sr. and daughter Ashley Lucas.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment in the church cemetery.

The Baloney Funeral Home of Garvyille is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. at the church.

MERCADEL

LAPLACE – Alonzo Geremiah Mercadel, Jan. 11, a native of LaPlace. He was the son of Alonzo Gerard Mercadel Jr. and Natalie Nicole Brown.

He is survived by his sister Nayla Ny’Jae Brown.

He is also survived by paternal grandparents Alonzo Gerard Mercadel Sr. and Kathleen Marie Mercadel, maternal grandparents Rev. Augustus G. Brown Jr. and Jeanette Morgan Brown.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents Warren and Doris Mercadel and maternal great-grandparents Freddie and Elizabeth Morgan Sr. and Augustus G. Brown Sr.

Services were held Jan. 14 at the New Rising Sun Cemetery, Houma.

WOOD

LAPLACE – Marion Russell &#8220Russ” Wood, 90, a resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 12.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Russell &#8220Chip” and Ann K. Wood.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Stephanie Wood Waguespack, Patti Wood Schoen and Russell S. Wood and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Presbyterian Church of St. John, LaPlace.

H.C. Alexander Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ZERINGUE

AMA – Glynn Joseph Zeringue, 67, a native of St. Rose and a resident of Ama, died Jan. 13. He was the husband of Audrey Robert Zeringue.

He is survived by his daughter Loren Comardelle and her fiancé Matt Rodrigue.

He is also survived by his parents Wilfred Jr. and Odslie Hurtin Youngs, grandchildren Dale Jr., Courtney, Lance Blake and Angela Comardelle.

Services were held Jan. 17 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ama, with interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery Taft.
