BOUTTE – Alex Griffin Jr., 79, a native of Des Allemands and a resident of Boutte, died Nov. 28. He was the husband of Augustine Griffin.

He is survived by his children Alex Griffin III and Carolyn Turner.

He is also survived by his siblings Mable Hill and Cora Joseph, brother and sister-in-laws Theresa Styles, Lillie Mae, Blondie, Hazel, Roland and Lawrence Paul, grandchildren Denise Thomas, Aiesha Turner and Alex Griffin IV, godchildren Wendy Williams, Betty Murray and Harriet Colbert, five great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Des Allemands, with interment in Jefferson Memorial Garden Cemetery, St. Rose.

Robottom Mortuary of Reserve is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. at the church.

HAYES

GARYVILLE – Clifton Alan Hayes, 26, a native of Garyville and a resident of Houston, died Nov. 26. He was the son of Mattie Carter Smith and Henry Hayes Jr.

He is survived by his son Clifton Robinson.

He is also survived by his stepfather Jeffery M. Smith, siblings Candace Turley, Corey Carter and Christopher Hayes, companion Wanda Gibson, grandparents Henry Sr. and Ruby Hayes and nephew Christopher Hayes Jr.

He was preceded in death by a grandmother Doretha Carter.

Services will be held today at noon at St. John Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, with interment in Zion Travelers Cemetery, Reserve.

KIRKLIN

NEW ORLEANS – Nelson Kirklin, 61, a native of New Orleans and Katrina Evacuee, died Nov. 23. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mildred Albert Kirklin.

He is survived by his cousins Ernest and Jeanette Robinson, Khrista and Christopher Robinson, Tonyetta and Wayne, Brad and Lxchelle Arceneaux.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church, Paulina, with interment in Antioch Cemetery, Paulina.

BOUTTE – Brad LaBranch, 51, a native and resident of Boutte, died Nov. 28. He was the son of the late Irvin and Earnestine LaBranch.

He is survived by his children Colette LaBranch and Corey Lee LaBranch.

VACHERIE – Bernice Williams Russell, 60, a native of St. James and a resident of Vacherie, died Nov. 23. She was the wife of Howard Russell Sr.

She is survived by her children Jerome K. Russell, Al Joseph Russell, Clayton A. Russell and Bianka P. Russell.

She is also survived by her siblings Gustavia W. Stewart, Calenia W. Lemar, Rosa W. Smith, Harry and Alex Williams Jr., godchild Trey Jairles and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alex and Pressy Mayho Williams, siblings Marion, Larry, Royal Sr., Edward Sr. and Albert Williams, son Howard Russell Jr. and friend Angelo Pavageau.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Highway Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment in the church cemetery.

SINGLETON

MT. AIRY – Joyce Singleton, 48, a native of Garyville and a resident of Mt. Airy, died Nov. 25. She was the daughter of Pearl Carothers and the late Solomon Singleton.

She is survived by her children Dedria Huntington, Quincy and Ronnie Singleton.

She is also survived by her siblings Frances, Carolyn, Fabiola, Solomon Jr., Harold, Lionel, Donald Ray, Rodney and Aaron Singleton and 12 grandchildren.

She was precede din death by Herbert Singleton Sr.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ, LaPlace, with interment in Zion Travelers Cemetery Reserve.
