RESERVE — The body found in the Godchaux Canal in Reserve has been identified as Frank J. Miano Jr., 74, of Reserve, from an apparent drowning.

St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Maj. Mike Tregre said toxicology reports are still pending, but the incident &#8220appears to be a drowning,” he said.

Miano was reported missing by his son on the morning of Nov. 17, and Miano was found later that day, according to Tregre.

In an unrelated incident, the identification of the body found in the water by Interstate 55 on Nov. 7, about five miles north of Peavine Road, is &#8220tentative and there is still no clear cause of death,” said Tregre.

Miano was a native of Garyville and a resident of Reserve for the past 55 years.

He was the husband of the late Connie Weber Miano, and he is survived by his children Glenn Miano, Kerry Miano, Sandra Dottolo, Jamie Miano and Allison Duhe.

He is also survived by a his sister Rosemary Giardina, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

was a good man and had a good life.

&#8220He was well-known in the area,” Kerry said. &#8220He was a good father, he was happily married and we were all surprised he went so quickly. He enjoyed having fun, and he was very active. He always kept himself busy.”

Kerry said recently when his father was out, a man asked him a question that lead to a positive answer.

&#8220He was out one night and a man asked him what happens if you go tomorrow?” Kerry said.

&#8220My father replied, it would be OK, because I had a good life, and I have no regrets.”
