LAPLACE – Matteo R. Avocato, 39, native and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 16. He was the husband of Debra Miller Avocato.

He is survived by his son Matteo C. Avocato II.

He is also survived by his father Matteo C. Avocato, stepchildren Jessie, Marcel and Darren Miller.

He was preceded in death by his mother Madeline Hartwell Avocato.

Services were held Nov. 19 at the Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel, LaPlace, with interment in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery, LaPlace.

BERNARD

LULING – Leola &#8220Lola” Bernard, a native and resident of Luling, died Nov. 18. She was the wife of the late Joseph &#8220Black” Bernard.

She is survived by her children Sylvia Navarro, David Bernard Sr. and Sandra Dufrene.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.

Services were held Nov. 21 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Luling, with interment in McDonoghville Cemetery.

BERTHELEMEW

VACHERIE – Eloise Isom Berthelmew, 86, a native and resident of Vacherie died Nov. 19. She was the wife of the late Thomas Berthelmew Sr.

She is survived by her children Joseph Sidney (Theresa) Sr., Alvin (Marie) Sr., Joseph George, Herman (Joyce), Thomas and James Bartholomew.

She is also survived by her siblings Henry and Antoine Isom, 30 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents Eli and Albertha Lemieux Isom, children Mable B. Batiste and Milton Bartholomew Sr., siblings Agnes Franklin Tassin, Helen Nelson, Theresa Oubre, Lovenia Dumas, Gosilia Steib and Raymond Isom, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment in the church mausoleum.

The Baloney Funeral Home of Garyville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 8 a.m. at the church.

ST. JAMES – Connie Ann Webre Bye, 53, a native of Gramercy and a resident of St. James, died Nov. 16. She was the wife of the late Gary Bye.

She is survived by her children Shelly Bye and Dean (Stacey) Bye.

She is also survived by her siblings Margaret Savoie, Joseph (Gloria) Webre, Warren (Gloria) Webre and Thomas (Gilda) Webre, mother and father-in-law Lucille and Ivy Bye and two pet babies Nini and Simba.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Eva Tregre Webre, and siblings Jeanette Webre, Brenda W. Rouyea, Caroll Sr. and Nelson Webre Sr.

Services were held Nov. 19 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment in the church cemetery.

CHATELAIN

LAPLACE – Donald Joseph Chatelain, 72, a native of Moreauville and a resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 19. He was the husband of Deanna Chatelain.

He is survived by his children Donna (Ricky) Gaspard, Suzanne (Nick) Pacaccio and Cynde Chatelain.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Christina and Chris Costanza, Regina Lachney, Blake Ducote, Dawn Paccaccio, Richard Sass III, Chad Verda and Michelle Gaspard and great-grandchildren Alexis Hingle, Camryn, Christopher II and Cory Costanza.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment in the St. John Memorial Garden Cemetery, LaPlace.

FRECHOU

DESTREHAN – Rose Mary Hoffman Frechou, 74, a native of Mobile, AL and a resident of New Orleans and Destrehan, died Nov. 18. She was the wife of the late Sidney William Frechou Jr.

She is survived by her children Glenn William Frechou, Bruce Gerard Frechou, Brian Joseph Frechou and Peggy F. Mire.

She is also survived by her siblings Theresa Esteves and Joyce Gauthier, grandchildren Glenn Jr., Marc, Stephen Jr., Christophor, Timothy, Gregory and Brian Frechou Jr., Jennifer Dorand, Kristen and Katie Mire and great-grandchildren Riley and Madison Frechou.

She was preceded in death by her parents Francis Xavier and Irene LaFargue Hoffman and a son Stephen Anthony Frechou.

Services were held Nov. 21 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment in Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans.

JONES

CONVENT – Charles Jones, 100, a native of Convent and a resident of New Orleans, died Nov. 15. He was the husband of the late Rose Jones.

He is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister Harriet Smith.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Convent, with interment in the church cemetery.

RESERVE – Frank J. Miano Jr., 74, a native of Garyville and a resident of Reserve, died Nov. 17. He was the husband of the late Connie Weber Miano.

He is survived by his children Glenn (Toni) Miano, Kerry (Peggy) Miano, Sandry (Donny) Dottolo, Jamie Miano and Allison (E.J.) Duhe.

GRAMERCY – Thomas John St. Pierre, 78, a native of Paulina and a resident of Gramercy, died Nov. 18. He was the son of the late Louis Chanel and Hermina Louque St. Pierre.

He is survived by his siblings Bridget Martin, Marguerite Brown, Lorraine Matherine, Ina Veron, Ida Roddy, Jessie, Freddie, Harry, Warren, Glynn and George St. Pierre.

He is also survived by his long time companion Shirley Savant.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Manuel Sr. and Louis C. Jr. St. Pierre.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment in the St. Joseph Mausoleum.

LUTCHER – Sherman J. Troxclair, 76, a native of Burnside and a resident of Lutcher, died Nov. 21. He was the husband of Shirlie Borne Troxclair.

He is also survived by his siblings Adlice Waguespack and Bessie Poche and grandchildren Justin and Brad Troxclair.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marcel J. and Josepha Z. Troxclair and siblings Miriam C. Robert and Davis Troxclair.

NORCO – Ann Elise Babin-Whittaker, 89, a resident of New Orleans and Norco, died Nov. 19. She was the wife of Frank C. Whittaker Sr.

She is survived by her children Frank Whittaker Jr. and Ann (Dr. Hal) LeBlanc.

She is also survived by her brother Victor E. Babin Jr., grandchildren Elizabeth LeBlanc Freitas, Rebecca LeBlanc Brens, Steven Brens Halie (Fiancé Jason Lowry) LeBlanc and Beau LeBlanc and great-grandchildren Kirsten Metrejean, Lorrie Metrejean, Michael Freitas, Victoria Brens, Madelyn Brens, Breland Keller and Micah Elizabeth Freitas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Victor E. and Caralle Serio Babin.
