ST. ROSE – Two men were arrested and charged with crime against nature after being caught by a St. Charles Parish Sheriff Deputy in a single stall at the St. Rose Travel Center truck stop.

Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange, spokesman for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, said the deputy was conducting a business check when he found Rev. Dean Robins, 57 of Kenner, and Marbin Tursios, 35 of St. Rose in a stall together.

&#8220It was around 11:45 p.m. when the deputy was conducting a routine business check,” LaGrange said. &#8220The deputy entered the restroom and realized two individuals standing in close proximity to each other, with their pants down to their ankles, in a single stall.”

He said the deputy became suspicious and as soon as he was about to ask them to step out for a welfare check, to make sure they were okay, the deputy’s radio went off.

&#8220This really scared the two individuals,” LaGrange said. &#8220When the individuals were interviewed they were both nervous, speaking in a nervous tone and really shaken up that they were caught.”

Rev. William Maestri, representative for the Archdiocese of New Orleans said the Archdiocese is deeply saddened by the arrests.

&#8220The Archdiocese placed Father Robins on administrative leave from Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (Kenner),” Maestri said. &#8220He will not be allowed to live in the Rectory. He will have to find a place to live on other grounds. We are respectful of legal proceedings, and we will wait for the outcome.”

Both men admitted to engaging in inappropriate sexual acts. They were arrested and taken to the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center in Killona, were Judge Emile St. Pierre set a $5,000 bond for each, according to LaGrange.

Robins was released by posting $530 on Monday. Tursios is still being held on a $5,000 bond.
