PAULINA – Madeline “Sophie” Poche Anselmo, 79, a native of Paulina and a resident of New Orleans, died Oct. 21. She was the daughter of the late Emilie Brignac and LeDoux Poche.

She is survived by her children Madeline (Michael) Champagne and Salvador (Mary) Anselmo.

She is also survived by her siblings Noelie Bourgeois, Earl, Lester and Oscar Poche and her grandchildren Kevin W. Bumgarner and Philip A. Champagne.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home,

ARCENEAUX

LAPLACE – Louise Smith Arceneaux, 64, a native of Mt. Airy and a resident of LaPlace, died Aug. 30. She was the wife of Calvin Arceneaux.

She is survived by her children Jeffery, Robin, Lisa, Michelle and Nicole.

She is also survived by her siblings Doler Jr., Harry and Richard Smith, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents Doler Sr. and Ida Ory Smith, a sister Alice Mae Trosclair and a son Eric Arceneaux.

Services were held Nov. 5 at Ascension of Our Lord Church, LaPlace, with interment in St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

HARRIS

HAHNVILLE – Darrell Harris, 21, a native of Hahnville and a resident of Avondale, died Oct. 31. He was the son of Darrell Bartley and Cassandra Harris.

He is survived by his son Darrell Harris Jr.

He is also survived by his stepmother Debra Tomas, grandparents Earnest Bartley and Victoria Harris, siblings Mortisha Harris, Comminie, Patricia and Aliasha Harris, Keisha Simoneaux and Jessica Thomas, aunts Velvet Davis, Tiona, Vonda, Sheila and Bridgette Harris, Dennise, Robin and Gale Thompson, Betty Jean Dent, Ronda Mitt, Patricia LeBlanc and Sheila Tony and uncles Reginold and Nathaniel Harris, Anthony and Kenneth Davis, Kevin and Nathaniel Bartley, Earnest Mitchell, Byron Dent and Leroy Tony.

He was preceded in death by grandparents William Harris and Celestine Bartley, cousins Allen and Tlyn Harris and an uncle Aurthor Davis.

Services were held Nov. 5 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Marrero, with interment in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Boutte.

HOUSTON

EDGARD – Velma Samuel Houston, 94, a native of Edgard and a resident of New Orleans, died Oct. 28. She was the daughter of the late Cecilia Batiste and Xavier Samuel.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Norman Sr., Xavier, Dolor and Leon Samuel, Leona S. Roberts, Claudia s. French and Jane S. Victor.

Services were held Nov. 7 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment in the church cemetery.

KELLY

NEW ORLEANS – Warren Kelly Sr., 49, a native and resident of New Orleans, died Nov. 6. He was the son of the late Ceasar and Ruth Charles Kelly.

He is survived by his son Warren Kelly Jr.

He is also survived by his siblings Shirley Mae Smith, Olivia Jackson and Ceasar Shannon.

He was preceded in death by a brother James Shannon.

Services will be held Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church, with interment in the church cemetery.

The Baloney Funeral Home of Garyville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. at the church.

PUGLISE

BOUTTE – Salvadore “Sam” Puglise, 82, a native of St. Bernard and a resident of Boutte, died Nov. 5. He was the husband of Ruth Gambino Puglise.

He is survived by his children Josie Authement and Sammy Puglise.

DES ALLEMANDS – Stella Cantrelle Roberts, 88, a native of Des Allemands and a resident of Lafayette, died Nov. 2. She was the wife of the late Jack Todd Roberts.

She is survived by her sisters Virgie Naquin, Gloria Petit and Marian Savoie.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wilson Sr. and Octavie O. Cantrelle and three brothers George, Wilson Jr. and Earl Cantrelle.

Services were held Nov. 5 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, with interment in the church cemetery.
